The new year of 2014 is already here. In fact, we have just passed the first month of 2014. As a custom of some, many New Year resolutions were made. But how many of us will actually be successful in carrying out our New Year resolution consistently until the end of the year, or until we achieve the goal that we set?

Starting from the beginning of this year, we will give you a monthly update via our E-Newsletter. This commitment is also another milestone for us because as the world is changing very rapidly in regards to spreading and getting information around, we know that we also have to shift towards that direction. In this E-Newsletter, you will receive updated information on Anugrah Ministries’ monthly activities, inspiring Words of God and many others that are interconnected with our website at www.anugrah.net

Jesus is expecting us to be a fruitful person. In John 15:5 (ESV), “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” Based on this verse, we realize that there are some requirements for one to be fruitful. One of the requirements would be having a Christ-like character. Therefore, this month we will learn about Commitment. What is commitment?

Commitment is dedication to achieve a certain goal/activity. Commitment also involves responsibility that may very well limit our freedom. When we are committed to something, we will give ourselves whole heartedly, to make sure we achieve the goal set before us. Commitment will change what we promise to become reality.

In his letter, Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy to watch his commitment. 1 Tim 6:20-21 (NKJV), “O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge – by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen.”

This also serves as a reminder to all of us. When people give us their trust, then we must be committed to guard that trust. That will be our goal for 2014 in Anugrah Ministries as well: we are committed to guard your trust. God bless our partnership. May our partnership be used by God to bring glory for His name. Amen.
