“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.

He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.”

Isaiah 40:28-29 (ESV)

Are you low in energy and motivation? Are you downhearted and loosing your purpose of life? If this is you, then certainly you are lacking and loosing Enthusiasm in your life.

The word Enthusiasm derived from En Theos, means to be inspired by God.  In the Merriam-Webster dictionary, Enthusiasm means: 1. Believe in special revelation of the Holy Spirit. 2. Strong Excitement or feeling. Therefore, when your Enthusiasm level is low, here are the things you need to do:

  1. Rest.  When you are too tired or feeling that life is just a routine. That’s a very good sign that you need to rest. As human being, we are pushed to be busy and productive.  But, overstretching your mind and time, will certainly empty your vessel. Then there will be nothing more you can give. Jesus said, Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28. When you have tried to the max and still you have not seen the result, then rest and see how Jesus is going to take over your situation and how He shall be able to satisfy you and give you peace that is not even the same as what the world can offer.
  2. Pray and Read Bible.  The only true moment of rest is not about having our body to do nothing or going for a holiday on a nice beach or mountain resort, but when we are able to let go our situation and fill ourselves with prayer and reading our Bible. Prayer is a direct communication with Lord. It is like breathing fresh air from heaven. I’m sure there is no pollution in heaven, thus the more you pray the more your spirit shall be refreshed. This world and all the problems that we know are not new. What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 1:9 (NIV). Therefore, you need to read the heart of the One who made the whole universe. Not only does it contain instruction, it is also a love letter from Him (the Groom) to us (His bride and beloved).  Then, when you read your Bible, you will gain wisdom and your mind shall be renewed. There’s answer and way out of every problem you are facing.
  3. Work with your heart. Oftentimes what makes you loose your enthusiasm is apathy towards life or your surroundings. You tend to be insensible, always think negatively about life, and as a result you will always delay the things that become your responsibility. The way out of this situation is written in Ephesians 6:7 (NLT), “Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.Stop thinking about what you will gain, instead ask yourself how you can bless the Lord with the works that have become your responsibility.

Jesus Christ is truly our role model. When He was on earth, He showed great enthusiasm in His daily walk. As a result those who were weak, sick, sinful, and lowly would come to Him, and they were restored and charged up.

“Years wrinkle the skin, but lack of enthusiasm wrinkles the soul.” – Norman Vincent Peale.

“Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson.
