Reading Verse: Deuteronomy 27:1-26
He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and,
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
Luke 10:27
The first time we fall in love with our spouse, we usually give something as the proof of our love such as present or more of our time for them. As in Christianity, it is also necessary to prove our love to God. For example, we can be doing every command written in the Word of God. The Word of God says that when we love Him, we will surely do His commands. We also will try to have a close relationship with God and give our best for Him. We always have to emerge our first love, never let our love for God decreasing. In order to emerge the first love, we need to be close to God all the time, and spend more time for Him. This will make us love Him even more, and bring us closer to Him. Sometimes we use busyness as our excuse for not having time for God. It is God’s desire that we use our time to be close to Him all the time. God never wants our love for Him gets farther and He even never desires to lose our relationship with Him. God desires us to have a close relationship with Him all the time. Therefore, it is necessary to spare our time for Him.
The proof of our love to God can also be seen by the way we love Him, whether it is wholeheartedly, in joy and sorrow. We must always love God, because He loved us first. Those who always emerge the first love towards God will always have the spirit of Jesus, whether in ministry, church service, prayers, and so on. Romans 12:11 says that let us keep our fervent spirit in serving the Lord. So in all circumstances we have to shine for God. In addition, we have to love others as our way in loving God. Not only do we love people who are good to us, but also those who hates us. It is God’s command that we love each other. Although this command is not easy, we have to be willing to do it.
No matter what happens, never abandon our love for God.
As long as we live, let us always love God, because love is eternal, and the love for Him is greater than all things. Amen.
