Reading Verse: Numbers 21:1-35
This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says:
“In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.
Isaiah 30:15
Life is always attached to troubles or challenges; as long as we live we will always encounter troubles. Troubles may make us dismay, or create doubts in our hearts. The problem in every trouble is not based on the size of the trouble, but the most important thing is how we respond to the trouble. If we face the trouble with negative attitudes, full of despair, then it will be hard to conquer the trouble. On the other hand, if we have the right response, we will get the best solution to our problem. Therefore, we should depend on God, which means fully surrender to Him as the only reliable help. We have limited strength, but He has endless power to help and open a way out for us. The Word of God says that blessed are those who count on Him. So, don’t use our own strength in encountering problems, but rely on God as Jesus is the only one who can help us.
Next is about strengthening faith and praying. When David and Israelites experienced defeat, David put His trust in God, and eventually God helped them out and they experienced victory. In the midst of troubles, pray and call out His powerful name. We must truly cry out for help towards Him alone. Even though our prayers haven’t been answered, don’t stop praying as until now God still hears our prayers. Behind every prayer lies His incredible power that will be poured out upon us.
Have peace in the Lord while waiting for His help is another thing to do in facing our problems. The Word of God says that while we are waiting for His help, we will gain new strength so that we don’t become weak. His help always comes on time.
Life never promises the certainty of our troubles, but at least don’t quit or give up since we still got Jesus as our only hope and help. Remain strong in Jesus and be the conqueror. Amen.
In encountering problems, pray and call out to the Almighty God
