From 9th to 16th of June 2015, Anugrah Ministries Team went on “Guard Your Family” Road Show in four cities in East Java: Pasuruan, Malang, Lumajang, and Jember.

First Day: Tuesday, 9th of June 2015. The journey started, from the city of Surabaya we were going to Pasuruan in order to minister in a Family Revival Meeting/Seminar, hosted by BKAG Pasuruan City, coordinated by Ps. Maya Wuysang (who happened to be an old acquaintance of Ps. Daniel Hendrata and Ps. Debby Catharina). The Revival Meeting/Seminar started at 4.30 pm. About 120 people attended; they came from different church backgrounds. They had the same passion to listen to the Word of God being shared. Ps. Daniel and Ps. Debby talked about “Guard Your Family in the Last Days.”

Here are some comments of the committee and attendees of the Revival Meeting/Seminar:

“We are so grateful because this seminar really blessed our city, Pasuruan. We hope Ps. Daniel and Ps. Debby can come back again someday to Pasuruan.”

Ps. Budi and Ps. Maya Wuysang (Vice Chairman of BKAG Pasuruan)

We are grateful to be able to attend this Family Seminar. We feel the blessing of God being poured out abundantly in this event.”

Ps. Bernadus Maya and Wife

“I’m so blessed having been given a chance to serve in this seminar. This seminar motivates me to get married even more, and to build an amazing family.”

Merdian (Congregation of GPdI Anugrah Pasuruan)

That night after dinner, Anugrah Ministries Team immediately continued their journey from Pasuruan to Malang. By the time they reached Malang, it was almost midnight.

Second Day: Wednesday, 10th of June 2015. In the afternoon, Ps. Daniel Hendrata and Ps. Debby Catharina took the chance to visit Rachel, a little girl who once suffered from Leukemia, when she was 5 years old. Ps. Daniel and Ps. Debby met Rachel and her father, as they were ministering in Singapore a few years back. They visited and prayed for Rachel in one of the hospitals in Singapore. For two years, Rachel was fighting her illness; she even experienced death for 3 minutes (her heart stopped beating). Only by the grace of God, this little girl received her healing miracle. Now, Rachel is 9 years old, and she is totally healed. Her family received her back with joy and gladness. Praise the name of the Lord!

In the evening, Ps. Daniel and Ps. Debby were back to speak in “Guard Your Family in the Last Day” Seminar, located in GBI Kristus Gembala, hosted by Ps. Ishadi Gunawan. More or less 150 people attended the Seminar; they were mostly servants of God and pastors from GBI Synode (Region 6). At the end of the seminar, Ps. Daniel and Ps. Debby made a declaration that every family in Malang will experience restoration. It’s amazing to see the response of these servants of God. Though many of them are already senior in age, they were still willing to learn deeper.

Here are a few comments from them:

“As a servant of God, I learned many new things. I am so blessed. All that have been expounded in this seminar, I will expound also to the families that worship God in our church.”

Ps. Ishadi Gunawan (Pastor of GBI Kristus Gembala, Malang)

“We are so blessed by this seminar. Finally we found the solution of communication problem in a relationship, especially in the area of intimacy and finance. This is very important, remembering that communication problem is the number one problem faced by many couples.”

Charles and Devina (Congregations of GBI Kristus Gembala who would get married four days after the seminar)

“So glad to follow through this seminar, because they revealed things in transparency. I hope through this seminar many families find solutions of their problems, and be restored. My input: I wish the duration of the seminar could be made longer, so we could have Q and A session.”

Ps. Lani Kusumawati (Co Pastor GBI ERC – Emanuel Revival Center)

Third Day: Thursday, 11th of June 2015. Anugrah Ministries Team continued on their journey to the next city: Lumajang, arriving in late afternoon. After a short rest, Ps. Daniel Hendrata and Ps. Debby Catharina were back to speak in “Guard Your Family” Seminar at GBI Rock Lumajang Church. The seminar started at 6 pm. The congregation who came that night listened very attentively on every explanation given. The atmosphere was quite different; it felt like everyone was family, so the seminar became more relaxing. Every now and then we could hear responses from the congregation (some of them turned out to be GoodNews viewers), making the event very pleasant, filled with laughter. The Word of God was preached with joy, and received with open hearts.

Here are some of the comments from the committee and attendees of the Seminar:

“As pastors, we feel that we are not yet maximal in teaching, whereas in this GYF Seminar, things are explained very specifically.”

Ps. Isaac Latief and Mrs. Noenik Latief

“We feel so blessed by this seminar, specifically regarding how to teach children in the right way and managing finance in family.”

Ming and Cynthia (Congregations of GBI ROCK Lumajang)

“We are so blessed by this seminar, because we are taught about many things on how to build a harmonious family. I encourage young couples to attend this seminar, because many things that we have not yet learned are being taught here.”

Sugiarto and Novi (Congregations of GBI ROCK Lumajang, who are planning to get married in December 2015)

While in Lumajang, Anugrah Ministries Team were hosted well by Ps. Isaac Latief, and his wife, Noenik (Local Pastors of GBI ROCK Lumajang). They both were old acquaintance of Ps. Daniel Hendrata and Ps. Debby Catharina, even friends of Ps. Daniel’s parents while they were still living in Surabaya more than a decade ago. What a surprise for Ps. Daniel and Ps. Debby to be able to meet with their old friends as well, Ming and Cynthia (when both pastors were still doing business, for a period of time they shared the same office with them both, in one of the financial corporations in Surabaya).

It’s also pleasant to meet new friends, especially the family of Agus and Grace, and their three children who are really gifted: Kenenza (gifted in singing and catwalking), Kenneth (gifted in playing guitar and drum, he even has perfect pitch hearing ability), and Kenickson (gifted in playing drum even in his 3 years of age). Serving the Lord together with our family (Joshua 24:15b), a verse in the Bible that serves as a guideline for Ps. Daniel and Ps. Debby’s family, turned out to be the same guideline for Agus and Grace’s family. How lovely!

Fourth Day: Friday, 12th of June 2015. In the afternoon, from Lumajang, our small team went to continue their journey to Jember, whereby “Guard Your Family” Revival Meeting/Seminar was conducted at GBI Mojopahit SSS. The seminar started at 4 pm, and ended at 9 pm, divided into 4 sessions. This seminar held the Q and A session as well. Almost everybody who attended the seminar were husband and wife couples. Some of them were also servants of God and pastors from GBI Synode (Region 7). Many of the questions that they asked were not only in regards to husband-wife relationship, but also parents-children.

Here are their comments:

“We received new things, not many speakers will share things as openly as this. They shared many of their experiences, whether positive or negative, in an open and transparent way, so it can serve as a reference for the families represented in this place. The theory that they delivered was very down to earth, so it will make it easier for the listeners to put into practice.”

Doctor Budi Raharja and Wife (Co Pastor of GBI SSS)

After the event, our small team went back to Lumajang. They arrived in Lumajang at almost midnight.

Fifth Day: Saturday, 13th June 2015. At 2 am, Anugrah Ministries Team, together with 4 workers of GBI ROCK Lumajang Church went to B29 mountain peak, located in Argosari Village. We had to take the motorcycle service. Going up the mountain on stony trails was quite a challenge, but it was worth it in order to witness the beauty of the rising sun. We reached the peak at 5.30 am.

Ps. Daniel Hendrata and Ps. Debby Catharina took some filming for one GoodNews episode. From there, we could see Mount Bromo and Mount Semeru at the background, and we were literally above the clouds. After a session of picture taking and enjoying the scenery, at about 6.45 am we went back down, and proceeded back to Lumajang.

We reached Lumajang at about 11 am. We stopped by to have lunch, and went back to the hotel to get some rest. At 2 pm, we were back to hit the road. We were heading to Tanjung Papuma to continue filming for one GoodNews episode before the sunset. Though lacking sleep, we stayed joyful. This time Ps. Isaac Latief and Mrs. Noenik accompanied us to go to Tanjung Papuma, which is located 1.5 hours drive from Jember. The scenery that we saw there was enchanting, as beautiful as some famous tourist destinations overseas. Indonesia is indeed beautiful. After dinner, we headed back to Lumajang and reached there very late at night.

Finally, on 15th of June 2015, they sent us to Jember Airport. We flew back to Surabaya, and then Jakarta. We came back to Jakarta bringing so much blessing and amazing experiences with God. We also believe that the Word that has been planted during this Road Show shall not come back in vain. In every city that we passed by, lives shall be transformed, marriages restored, and families risen up to serve Him, just as we prayed and declared throughout the journey. God’s name shall be glorified, amen.
