GBI Teluk Pulai in Panipahan is 9th church that we madeover. We got to know this church from Ps. Parningotan Sihombing of GBI Cinta Damai (CMO7). Panipahan is located in the region of Rokan Hilir, Riau province. From Jakarta, we have to fly to Medan for 2 hours, and by car to Tanjung Balai for 5 ½ hours, then by boat for 3 hours. Total journey time is 11 hours.

Panipahan is a small fisherman town, where 80% of the population lives on top of water. Many different ethnic groups live there; most of them are fishermen and traders. Common problems that the people face are drug trafficking, gambling, prostitution, drinking, and free sex. These are some of the considerations we picked this church as our 9th CMO projects. We believe the church should give light in the midst of darkness.

We changed the foundation from rotten wooden stilts to concrete, repainted the interior and exterior parts of the church, upgraded the flooring, built new bathrooms, fixed some leaking on the zinc roof, and made a concrete bridge from the road to the church building.

We conducted Revival Meeting and Seminars to mark the handover, on the 1st – 2nd of November 2011. About 350 people came to the Revival Meeting. The Lord touched them tremendously. Many of them rededicated their lives to be part of end-time harvesters. Even young children were crying and weeping in the presence of the Lord. Praise the Lord for using us to be a part of His movement there. This project is a collaboration of Anugrah Ministries and APAC Ministries of Singapore.
