Do you know that your life is like a book? The days of your life is neatly documented in every page of the book. It has many chapters. Some chapters consist of beautiful, pleasant stories. Some chapters are dark and painful. There are times that you feel like lingering to the last chapter that just passed. You don’t want to move on into the next chapter because you are not sure what you will get in the future. But you know very well what already happened in the past, and you already got used to it, so you don’t feel like moving on.
One thing you must know, God is the author of your life, page after page. He knows every single detail taking place. He understands every challenge, struggle, and pain that you are experiencing. He rejoices with every success, happiness, and victory that you accomplish. He even knows the end from the beginning. Though sometimes God allows painful chapters to exist, the purpose is to shape your character to be stronger and not weakling. Whatever happens, God knows that the end is always beautiful. The conclusion is for sure, you are saved by His grace. Jesus has paid the price in full for your salvation. You will spend eternity with Him.
I just attended a funeral service last week of a fellow servant of God. I was reminded again and again about the meaning of life. Life is not about how long you live on earth. Life is not about how much wealth you have accumulated so far (you won’t be able to take it with you anyway, once you depart). But life is about how much impact you have made to others. It’s about how much difference you have made for mankind, not only for your own family members. How much will the world feel the loss when you are gone and for how long?
Most importantly, life is about knowing your Creator, the Author of your life. How much have you learnt to know Him, not only about Him? Once you know Him, you will want to know His will. Once you know His will, you will want to do nothing but only His will. Have you found out about it? Find these answers in the BIBLE, the manual of our lives. Some people say that BIBLE stands for Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth. Make sure you know it well, before your departure. And as long as you’re still here, make the best use of your life.
For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appears for a little time and then vanishes away (James 4:14). Yet, within this short period of time, God asks us to become salt and light of the world, to give significant impact to the world. Lastly, we must always remember that whatever we do in our lives will determine our eternity. Just like what Jesus said in John 6:47, “Most assuredly, .. he who believes in Me has everlasting life.” Believe in Him, you will receive eternal life. Amen! (DC)
