Departing from Nias, our Adikku Sayang team continued their journey to Central Tapanuli in North Sumatra on 31 Oct 2014. We opened up two new Anugrah Learning Centers with 20 students in this area: one in Aek Horsik village, and another in Sibuluan village. Then, on 2 Nov 2014 we held an opening ceremony for 10 new centers in Asahan and Simalungun area. Two ALCs are in Asahan area: Mandoge, and Sei Kopas. Eight ALCs are in Simalungun area: Jawa Tongah, Nagori Teladan, Cinta Raja, Panambean, Parapat, Pangkalan Buntu, Saribu Jawa, and Aek Bontar. We gathered 101 students who got accepted into the Adikku Sayang scholarship program, together with their parents, teachers, and center leaders in Mandoge Center. The pouring rain and distance they travelled (some of them spent 2-4 hours on the road) did not hinder them from coming. Most of the parents work as farming labor, either in palm or rubber plantations, and they barely make the minimum wage. They are very grateful that their children can be supported by Adikku Sayang. This eases their burden very much. Praise the Lord that we are still given the opportunity to bless others. With this addition, we currently have 467 students whom we support in Adikku Sayang program. Dispersed in 42 centers, all across the archipelago of Indonesia. If you want to be a part of this movement, contact us through our website at www.adikkusayang.org. God bless you!
