Anugrah Ministries with her scholarship program: Adikku Sayang, keeps on working to reach as many Indonesian students as possible, especially in the rural areas of the archipelago, so they can have access to education consistently. With the so many numbers of people living in poverty, so many children are out of school too. Low family income is in contrast with the shooting living expenses, and fees for education. Though our government is imposing 12 years of school for a child (Grade 1-12), still in reality so many parents prefer their children to work, in order to make extra income to put food on the table. Free education from the government’s program is also not yet thoroughly distributed among the almost 18,000 islands that we have, particularly in remote places.

This time, Adikku Sayang is reaching out to children at the most Northern island of Indonesia, Sangihe Island, which is near the border of the Philippines. Located in Mala Village, Manganitu District, Sangihe Region, North Sumatra Province, we established Anugrah Learning Center (ALC) Manganitu.

Having gone through four months of probation and verification, on Friday, 15 July 2016, ALC Manganitu is officially operational. With Center Leader Mr. Stevanus Faehuzy Zebua, ALC Manganitu consists of 10 students: 7 boys, and 3 girls (6 in Elementary, 3 in Middle School, and 1 in High School).

The parents of these students are really grateful to God, Anugrah Ministries, and her sponsors. They felt so relieved now that they receive help for their children’s education. Most of them are traditional farmers, fishermen, and laborers; without the help of Anugrah Ministries it is not possible for them to ensure the continuity of their children’s study. They really wish that in the future, many more Indonesian children, including those in Sangihe Island will receive this wonderful opportunity, like the one the received on that day.

With your support, we can change the future of Indonesia’s younger generation towards the better. Together, let us work for the future of our Motherland.
