On Saturday, 11th of June 2016, the students of Adikku Sayang Scholarship Program from Bekasi District gathered at ALC Burangkeng to attend the Meet and Greet with Mac Harmon, a vloger from Canada who is well known to the youth. The event started at 10 am with ice breaking by Alders Daniel Panebaren, the field coordinator from Anugrah Foundation. Then the children were asked to sing along with Mrs. Joelle Hsu (facilitator of the event).
The point of the Meet and Greet with Mac Harmon is to inspire and motivate the students of Adikku Sayang, so they will not easily give up on their dreams.
Mac Harmon started his first video blogging when he was 9 years old. Now Mac is 17 years old, having 244,000 followers on Instagram and more than 44,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.
Every student from the Anugrah Learning Center that came on that day was given a chance to take a picture with Mac Harmon, and the photo was printed right away. Besides that, Mac Harmon, who came with his family, also gave away souvenirs in the form of posters, shirts, and food. They also took the time to visit the house of two Adikku Sayang students, to care for their families’ condition, also helping them with food supplies.
The students of Adikku Sayang were not the only ones feeling joyful, as it turned out, Mac Harmon and his family also felt joyful because they were able to visit and share with the families who were in need. Thanks for the support of Anugrah partners that enables us to carry out the Adikku Sayang Scholarship Program until now. We hope we can transform many more lives of the younger generation in Indonesia through this program.
