One day before the field trip, the Adikku Sayang children from ALC (Anugrah Learning Center) Padang, already received their Christmas gifts from their sponsors, so they started the day enthusiastically. The theme of the field trip this time was Factory Tour to one of the mineral water factories located in West Sumatra, Sumber MInuman Sehat. This factory has been established for 11 years in Sicincin.
19 people came along in this Factory Tour: 15 ALC students, 3 teachers, Head of ALC Padang, and Pastor of GKII Padang. We left on Saturday, 1st February 2014, at 8 am with a school bus. The journey to the factory took 1.5 hours.
When we reached the factory, the management and director welcomed us. They were explaining to us about the process that takes place in the factory everyday, from getting the water until the water was ready for delivery.
Then, they took us to see those processes. The children were so happy, and more importantly they now know the requirements of healthy drinking water, also the technology of processing mineral water and packaging it. At the end of the trip, the factory director gave us all goodie bags and snacks.
We continued the trip to have lunch at Pariaman beach. We were also playing and bonding with the children of ALC Padang. At about 5pm, we were back in Padang. Though we were tired physically, our joy overflowed. Thanks to all the sponsors who have made this trip possible.
