The Purpose of Life

Reading Verse: Exodus 1:1-22

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

Everyone has a different purpose in life, for example some want to achieve success, while others want to get to high positions. It is not wrong to achieve success, but it is pointless since our purpose in life is only in God, and not lies in the things of the world. Since God created men, He got plans and beautiful purposes for us. Therefore, He desires us to live in His beautiful purpose. This life is not our own, but it belongs to Jesus, and He reigns upon us. So our lives are not for ourselves, but for God.

Our purpose is to get to know God deeper. We might have already known who Jesus is, but the most important thing is to know His perfect personality. Jesus is amazing for us; we can always count on Him. Therefore, as long as we live, let us get to know Him better.

Another purpose of our lives is to glorify God’s name. In Matthew 5:16, it is written that our lives can be blessings for others. We are the salt and light of the world so wherever we are we can impact others. God desires to use us to be His tools of glory, doing a good work for Him. When we surrender to God, He can use us as His tools.

Our purpose in life is also to bear fruits for God (Philippians 1:21), especially the fruits of Holy Spirit. Wherever God places us, it is a chance for us to produce fruits for Jesus. Whatever we do, let it be only for His glory. Our lives have to be led by the Holy Spirit in order to produce the spiritual fruits.

Let’s surrender our purpose to God so He can lead and guide us towards His perfect purpose. Let’s use our whole lives to please God so His plan can be fulfilled in us. Let’s live for Jesus forever. Amen.
