Reading Verse: Genesis 36:1-43

God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not —to nullify the things that are

1 Corinthians 1:28

All believers must be longing to have God uses their life. There are several conditions to serve God. First of all, we must know that God doesn’t always uses people who have capabilities, but those who are willing and have great desires to serve God. It will be useless if we only have the capabilities, but not a serving heart. Therefore, the most important thing is to have a serving heart towards God, whether we truly want to serve Him.

Second, God really cares for those who are faithful in doing small things. For example David, before he became a king, he was only a shepherd of 2-3 sheeps. But he was faithful in doing his work. Most people want to start with big things, but are not faithful in small things. Those who are proved to be faithful in doing small things will be trusted by God to do big things.  “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much” (Luke 16:10).  Thus, be faithful in any things that God has trusted us including the little things because sooner or later He will reward those who are faithful to Him.

Third, God uses people who are humble, those who are willing to give their lives for God without looking for respect and praise from others. This is why God often uses people who are not worthy to the world. God uses those who are willing to have their lives molded, because nobody is ready to be used by God without going through processes. Therefore, be patient when He is molding us, because His plan is always perfect.

Last, it takes a strong commitment to serve God so whenever there is a problem, we will remain strong in serving God.

Let us always serve Him in this life, because our effrorts in Him will not be wasted. (JS/ST)
