Reading Verse: Exodus 4: 1-31
“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
Isaiah 6:8 (NKJV)
John 15:16 says that God chooses us among the millions of people in the world to be His chosen people. When God calls us, He has a special purpose for us. It is even said in 1 Peter 2:9 that we are a royal priesthood, a chosen generation and God’s very own. God knows us since we were in our mother’s womb, He knew the journeys of our lives, everything is opened in His eyes. However, the word of God says that many are called but only a few are chosen. This shows that many people do not respond well to God’s calling. Some people feel inferior, afraid or feel that they do not have what it takes to do what God called them to.
When God chooses us, we should not think lowly about ourselves or feel that we do not have what it takes. For if God chose us, He would also equip us with the necessary ability to carry out the task He has for us. Also, we should never be intimidated by the devil’s lies, saying that we are not worthy to carry out God’s calling in our lives. Remember, since the moment we receive Christ, our lives are already counted worthy before Him. Isaiah 6 tells that when God had a calling for Isaiah, he felt that he was not worthy. However, when God sanctified him, Isaiah did as he was called. It is only by the blood of Christ that we are cleansed and made worthy. Thus, we must have the courage.
In responding and carrying out God’s calling, things aren’t always smooth and nice. There are times we would be faced with trials and challenges. These are the times when we should never give up, and keep on focusing on Jesus. It is only when we focus on Jesus that we are strong and firm. Besides, we need to watch that we live holy before God, for He is holy.
Let us, who have been chosen by God, respond and carry out each of our callings sincerely, that we may reach the finish line and remain faithful till the end. Never give up no matter what happens. Be faithful until the end, and He will give you the crown of life (Rev 2: 10b). Amen. (J/DS)
