Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters
Colossians 3:23
When we love somebody, usually we will try our best to make him/her happy. The same as when we love God, we will always try to please His heart. The first thing to please God’s heart is that we have to love Him more than anything. It is written in Colossians 3:23 that whatever we do, work at it with all our heart, as working for the Lord, not for human. So whatever we do is not only to make people happy, but the most important thing is to make God happy. Another proof that we love God is that we have to put God above everything else; we should put Him first. It is not always easy, but when we love God it means that we always learn to prioritize Him.
In addition, we always have to be joyful and be grateful. It means that in any circumstances we should thank God because He is good and He always give the best for us. When we are thankful and joyful, the heart of God is pleased and He will shower us with blessings. The Word of the Lord also says that we should always be joyful in any circumstances because this is what God desires.
Moreover, we should live in obedience especially in doing all of God’s commandments. When we love, automatically we will obey anything that God wants from us. In the book John is written that when we love Jesus, we will be doing the word of God. Behind obedience lies a reward that God has provided for us.
Last but not least, we also have to lift up praises to God. God reigns upon every praise of His people, so there is a power beyond the praises that we lift up. In any situations, whether it’s good or bad, keep praising the Lord because He is good and deserve our praises. Because He is worthy of our praise and worship, and let our lives be beautiful to God. Amen.
