Reading Verse: Genesis 31: 1 – 55
“… and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are.”
1 Corinthians 1: 28
All human beings are created with different kinds of flaws and weaknesses. Many people feel inferior because of their weaknesses. We should never lose hope for God never sees who we are. He is able to make us extraordinary people. Generally, we think that God only uses the smart people or the rich people for His glory. He uses those who are ahead and strong and those who are outstanding. We think that there will be no chance for normal or ordinary people to be used by Him, and we feel that we have nothing to be proud of. Hence, we feel inferior and unworthy in the presence of God. 1 Corinthians 1: 27 – 28 says that God has chosen the foolish of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty, and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are. It is the “ordinary” people that the world looks down on that will be used by God.
In life, we should not feel inferior about anything that happens. We should possess self – confidence. Trust that God loves us very much and we are precious in God’s eyes. Our creation is miraculous and extraordinary. And there is a specific purpose for our lives.
Also, God never looks at our backgrounds. Do you remember how David was chosen to be the king of Israel? At that time, he was just a mere shepherd boy but God has chosen him to be the king of Israel. What God wants from all of us is humility. When we are humble, God will promote our lives. He will guide the humble. On the other hand, God does not like the boastful. Henceforth, we should learn to humble ourselves before Him. If today we are successful, it is all because of God’s grace.
Do not complain when God is processing us. Through the process that happens in our lives, God is preparing an extraordinary blessing for us. Through all the processes that happen, God wants to shape our characters to be strong and firm. Give thanks always. Without God, we are mere and ordinary people but with God, our lives become meaningful and extraordinary. God is the only one who is able to promote our lives.
Keep living in dependence to God. Amen.
