Eagles Christians

Reading Verse: Genesis 34:1-31 

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Eagles are more popular than other birds. One of the greatness of eagles is they build their nests on top of mountains. The nest is so big that even people can sleep in it. The weight of the nest can reach about 700 kgs. In addition, eagles never give up in storms. Instead, they fly against the storms and fly higher.

We also can become Christians like eagles, who always remain strong through every storm. Even though we experience many problems, we should never give up easily, but keep going and be strong. Any problem will never be bigger than our strength. Each problem is a lesson for us to be stronger in God.

Sometimes God let heavy problems and hard times to train our faith muscles and to make us more mature. Those who have learnt to spread the spiritual wings in a right way will be able to fly high, ready to encounter any storms and will become conquerors. Without tests or storms, how can we be called as people who have qualified personality? James says,  “because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”  (James 1:3). Face all storms of life with God; believe that God will make us conquerors so we shouldn’t become pessimists.

Eagles’s sights are very sharp. They are able to see from a great distance, even from the height of about 3 miles (4,8 km) above sea level, so that they can get the movement signal of their preys. Usually, they will fly low and then with a fascinating speed they will grab their prey. As for humans, we have to focus on the future that God has prepared for us. It is written in Jeremiah 29:11 that the Lord gives us future that is full of hopes. Even though our circumstances are not good at this moment, never give up because there is always hope in the Lord. Trust Him that He has prepared a good future for us. With Him, we will fly higher and live in victory.

Let us be eagles Christians who stay strong against the storms of the world. Amen. (JS/ST)
