Twice a year, Pastor Daniel Hendrata and Pastor Debby Catharina are scheduled to bless the nation of Singapore. Their visit on October 22-26, 2016 was their second visit for the year 2016.
On Saturday, October 22, 2016, a series of ministries began with the Guard Your Family Seminar in the Trinity Methodist Church. Conducted by their Hougang Small Group, there were around 80 people (majority are married couples) who attended the seminar, which started at 9 o’clock in the morning, and ended at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. They were all very attentive throughout the sessions, and they felt truly blessed, especially when listening to Pastor Daniel and Pastor Debby’s life testimonies. They learned plenty of real study cases, and things that they can apply directly into their lives.
Pastor Daniel and Pastor Debby continued to minister after the seminar in the Upper Room Fellowship. On that night, Pastor Daniel preached a message about Self Identity, taken from John 1:12 (NKJV), “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” Many times as we face the challenges of life, we tend to forget our true identities. When we receive Jesus as our Lord and personal Savior, we are given authority to be the children of God. What made it very special and interesting was that after the service, the workers of the Upper Room Fellowship held a Cantonese Pop night, as part of their outreach program towards the Canton community around them.
The next day, on Sunday, October 23, 2016, Pastor Daniel and Pastor Debby had two different schedules. Pastor Daniel served in Sahabat Orang Sakit (NDFI Indonesian Service). Sahabat Orang Sakit is a ministry that specializes in ministering to the Indonesian people who are sick and seeking medical treatment in Singapore. In his sermon, Pastor Daniel gave encouragement to them to not give up, and to always hope in God. After preaching, Pastor Daniel prayed for the sick one by one. The presence of God filled the room, it was like God Himself was touching their hearts and embracing them. Hallelujah!
In the meantime, Pastor Debby served in Bartley Christian Church (Indonesia Service), which specializes in ministering to the Indonesian female workers in Singapore. The congregation was not big, but they are far from home and their families, and they really yearn to learn the truth of God’s Word. The learning atmosphere was very fun, as they all sat in a circle. Pastor Debby taught them how to change their weakness into strength in the Lord. Great joy filled the room throughout the service.
The next few days was filled with rest and meetings, before both pastors returned to Indonesia on October 26, 2016. Praise the Lord for a very enjoyable time in Singapore, a chance to minister, and the opportunity to be a blessing. We pray that the Word planted in Singapore will never come back in vain, but will bear fruits and bless many people in Singapore. We also hope that the friendship established between Anugrah Ministries and the churches/ministries in Singapore will become stronger and will be blessed by the Lord. All glory to Lord Jesus. Amin.
