Ps. Daniel Hendrata and Ps. Debby Catharina were back to give the Guard Your Family Seminar. This time it was at GBI New Wave, located at Taman Anggrek Mall, in Jakarta. The seminar took place in the middle of the week. Most of the attendance was GBI New Wave church members, but some single young men and women from other churches also came, as they were interested to learn from the seminar. They were all willing to come after work, fighting the traffic jam during Jakarta’s rush hour in order to get the learn from the teaching. About 50 people came to the seminar.
Because of limited time, the seminar was divided into two sessions, each on a different day. The first seminar was held on the 15th of September 2015; the topic was about Money and Intimacy. The first session went quite long because monetary in a big city like Jakarta is indeed important issue. The second seminar held on the 26th of October 2015; the topic was about Communication and Forgiveness, also an additional teaching on Parenting. The attendants responded well; we can see their responses from the numbers of question coming in during Q&A session. Most of the questions were about money and communication, which became a mirror for us to see the phenomena of living in a big city.
We hope through this Guard Your Family Seminar, many families in Jakarta, or even other big cities can be strengthened in building a godly and happy family, as written in the Bible.
