Reading Verse: Genesis 6: 1 – 22

“Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.”

Genesis 6: 22 (NKJV)

Noah is one of the biblical roles who has total obedience to God. When God commanded him to build an ark, he did just as God told him, even though he did not know what God meant at that time. In the end, Noah received God’s protection when the flood came down on earth. The moment God commands us to do something; there are times when we are less obedient despite the fact that the fruit of obedience is always goodness. Each of God’s command is good and it has to be done. He would never command us to do something without a purpose. Our part is to be obedient, and God will do His part. No matter how small God’s command is, we should obey and do it.

Noah lived in faith to God. Though he has not seen the signs of rain, he still trusted God. Noah trusted though he has not seen. This is how the life of a believer should be. We have to believe in God though we don’t see things yet. We should believe in God though we have not yet seen His blessings. Faith to God will bring us to see His goodness and make us witness His power revealed.

Noah was also faithful and loyal. It took 120 years to build the ark. Noah did all of it diligently. And when the ark was done, it looked really beautiful. In this life, we need to possess patience and loyalty to God. He makes everything beautiful in His time. Trust that His plans always work the best for us. We need to be patient and trust that God makes everything beautiful in His time.

When Noah was in the ark, he did not know when the flood has resided. However, the moment he saw God’s rainbow, he knew that everything was over. Likewise, when we are in the midst of a trial or tribulation, oftentimes we do not know when it has come to an end. However, trust that God will show his rainbow of love and He will help us. Through all the hardships we encounter, we will see God’s goodness behind all of it.

Today, we no longer live in the era of Noah. We live in the grace era, where the door of salvation is opened wide for us. We ought to be thankful for God loves us. Let us make full use of the opportunity given to us, that our lives may be pleasing to God. Amen.
