Reading Verse: Joshua 5:1-15
For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.
Hebrews 5:13
Once upon a time in America, there was a wonderer who arrived by the river of Mississippi and found no bridge to cross the river. It was winter and it was frozen ice all over the surface of the river. He was hesitant when he was about to cross the river because he had no idea the thickness of the ice. So, he decided to crawl on it carefully. When he reached the centre of the river, he heard a song behind him. He looked back carefully and found another wonderer was coming from the riverside. The man was riding a carriage full of loads. So these two men were crossing the same river but reached the destination in two different ways. One doubts about the thickness and strength of the iced surface, while another one knows it well.
The above story is similar to the journey of our faith. Sometimes we have our own way of thinking toward God. This can affect the growing of our faith. When we have the right point of view, we will know God better and our faith will grow. For example, God has said that He came into this world so that we have life and live in abundant blessings. But when we need something, we often don’t ask Him because we are afraid or doubtful. As a matter of fact He is our good Father who will give the best to those who ask Him. On the other hand, those who ask from God will experience and see God’s goodness, even experiencing God’s power. It is written in Matthew 7:7 that if we ask God, He will give it to us. In addition, don’t be afraid to move forward and reach the destination in life. A bad past sometimes make one difficult to move forward. When we know God’s plan for us, we should not fear because God is always with us, to guide our steps and give victory. When we realize that it is God who determines our steps, then we will keep our spirit up. Even though there are many challenges, don’t become bitter because we will be able to overcome with God. The more we get to know God, the more we know that God always gives the best for our lives.
Let us always grow in God so our faith becomes mature and that we are ready to be the bride of Christ.
