Reading Verse: Leviticus 26 : 1 – 46

“Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruits of the earth,

waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and the latter rain.”

James 5: 7

If today we are still consuming vegetables and rice, it is thanks to the hard work of farmers. Not only do farmers work hard, but also they have a principle that we should be imitating, they possess the perseverance to nurture a plant till they produce the best results. In life, God also longs for us to possess the same kind of perseverance too, for it is one of the criteria needed to reach victory.

Perseverance must start with little things, and it will result produce good results. Thus, whatever God has entrusted us with, work on it diligently. Perseverance can also come in the form of praying and waiting on the promise of God.

Remember that the moment we show perseverance in our prayers, we will receive answers from God in His time. He never ignores our prayers. Thus, never ever give up in our prayers though He might not yet answer them. Keep on praying till we receive answers from Him. Farmers must also possess patience in waiting for harvest time. Though they may fail or there may be many things hindering them, they must still be patient enough and wait for harvest time. They keep on working till it is harvest time. As humans, we have the tendency to hope for instant things. However, we have to realize that there are things that just do not happen that quickly. And it is time for us to learn to wait on God’s timing, as it is written in Ecclesiastes 3: 11, that God makes everything beautiful in His time. Hence, keep on being patient so that we might be able to feel God’s love in our lives.

Besides, farmers also possess the diligence in working. Every day, they have to nurture and maintain their crops. In life, we must also possess diligence so that we might be able to enjoy whatever it is that we want. Proverbs 6: 6 says that when we are lazy, we should learn from ants.

Live your life with patience and perseverance till the time you see God’s plan revealed in your life. Amen.
