Reading verse: Numbers 1: 1 – 54
“He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruits in its season,
whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”
Psalms 1: 3
A strong person is not only determined by his physical strength. It is the strength he has when he faces difficulties and challenges that determines his strength. A strong person does not mean that he has never failed in life, but a strong person is one who is able to get up and rise up again after every failure. The real champion is not one who has never failed, but is one who tries again and again despite umpteen failures and one who never ever gives up, just like Thomas Alpha Edison never gave up till he invented the light bulb. After failing more than a thousand times, he successfully invented the light bulb. His perseverance and determination made him succeed.
Likewise, in life, we are not always faced with nice and comfortable situation. There are times when we are faced with many trials and difficulties. However, when those times come, we should never be weak. We must remain strong and face all those trials and challenges that may come our way, for God has prepared what’s best for us. The moment we get weak, it is difficult for us to move forward, and this makes us lose opportunities. Thus, we should remain strong and firm. Though we are in the midst of a difficulty, believe that the problems we face never exceed our capacity of strength. Indeed, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Truthfully, God is always giving us His strength in all things.
To remain strong and firm, we must read and meditate on His word regularly. Psalms 1:3 says that when we abide in His word, we can be strong. We will be like a tree that is planted by a riverside, whose leaves will never wither, and whatever we do shall prosper. The word of God is also our spiritual food and it gives us the strength to survive and it even contains many promises for us. Hence, there is absolutely no need for us to be worried or afraid when we face problems. God will bring to pass all that He has promised, just live in Him and we will be able to pull it through.
Also, draw near to Him so that we get the strength that we need. Near Him, we are given the strength that we need and He will strengthen us with is unfailing love. When we are faced with problems, do not walk away from God. We can only receive our strength when we are near Him. Let us be strong and firm people of God from today on.
When we are strong, we will be conquerors and we will be able to see God’s plans revealed in our lives.
