Church MakeOver program is reaching out to North Sumatra and Riau provinces. Few months ago, we have two sets of proposal reached our desk requesting us to take a look at some churches at these regions. After doing some preliminary work, we discovered that these cases met our first requirements. We set our sail off to Medan, Air Putih, Indrapura, Tanjung Balai and Panipahan by air, car, and boat. Over there, we found that there are 3 churches that needed urgent help: GBI Cinta Damai in Air Putih, GBI Aras 1 Indrapura both of them are in the region of Batu Bara, North Sumatra and GBI Panipahan in the district of Rokan Hilir, Riau.
GBI Aras 1 is located in a suburb of Indrapura. It is a half done facility with a capacity of 300 people. Having such a space, we believe this church has a potential to be a harvest centre as it is nestled among the unbelievers. They need our help to finish the flooring, plaster on the both in and outer wall, ceiling, bench and a simple sound system for their worship facility.
