The Obstacle of Improved Faith

Reading Verse: Numbers 34:1-29

And without faith it is impossible to please God,

because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hebrews 11:6 

It is written in Hebrews11:1 that faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. As believers we should live by faith, and we should experience a growing faith because without this everything will be useless. One sign of maturity in Christianity is having a strong faith. However troubles and challenges in life often shake our faith and make us move backward. Problems shouldn’t weaken our faith, be strong because this is where the quality of our faith to God is tested. Not only in good times do we have faith, but also in bad times we must put our faith in God. In the Word of God, the faith of Abraham was tested as God commanded Him to sacrifice Isaac. It was hard for Abraham to obey the Lord at that time, but his faith to God made him do what God told him to do. His obedience was eventually fruitful. Isaac was not sacrificed. Based on this story, Abraham is now called the Father of the faithful since in the midst of a heavy problem he still relied on the Lord. So it can be inferred that only with strong faith can we solve problems.

Sometimes we become doubtful as our prayers haven’t got answered, and we begin to doubt His power. However, we should continue trusting God, because He will answer our prayers on time. Keep our hopes in Jesus until we get the best from Him.

Another thing that makes our faith not growing is the spiritual laziness, that is when we stop praying, reading the Word or going to church, and these could make our faith easily shaken. Keep in mind that the Word of God is a spiritual bread which can make our faith grow stronger, and without feeding the faith we will be easily shaken. Strengthen your prayer life and have a close relationship with God. We need to have discipline so that our faith remains strong.

Only with faith can we get every promise from God. Never let our circumstances bring us down. On the other hand, have a strong growing faith in order to be pleasing before Him. Amen.

Never let the growing of our faith get stuck just because we are defeated by the problems of life
