Reading Verse: Numbers 17:1-13

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.

Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

There were two birds named Cicit and Cuit, which decided to build a nest at the branches of a spruce tree. They collected dry grass and brought them to the branch every day. Both of them worked hard day and night to build the nest. Finally, the nest was done. It was quite big and comfortable. The birds stay there for months. They slept, joked around, and laid their eggs there. In other words, the nest had become a part of their lives.

One day, a farmer cut the spruce tree and this made the two birds left their nest. Cicit was very sad and cried all day. Cuit was trying to comfort Cicit, but she continued mourning and insisted on staying feet at one branch. Heat, rain, and winds come and go, and Cicit stayed until her death at the branch. Unlike Cicit, Cuit decided to move on and start a new life at a new tree. She built her nest at a strong comfortable tree and laid eggs there.

Often times, we also experience similar story, that life doesn’t always promise good things to happen to us. We experience challenges, and unexpected things sometimes come into our lives. However, when things suddenly change, we have to be strong and not get trapped in the problems. Problems are not to be lamented, but to be encountered in order to move on. When a storm hits our lives, keep in mind that it will not exceed our ability to bear with it. It also means that we are all able to go through the problem. God is always with us, and He will give the best way out.

In life, God never promises that everything will go smooth without any problems. But, He makes sure that He will always give us strength and provide the best solution for us. Stay strong in living this life because He is the source of our strength. Amen.

When things suddenly change, we have to be strong and not get trapped in the problems.
