Reading Verse: Genesis 14:1-24
Come unto me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest
Matthew 11:28
We all have various activities to be busy with everyday such as work, school, or household works. We are so busy with those activities and routines that make us feel tired at the end of the day. Therefore, we need a good rest so that we can feel refreshed. When we have enough rest, we maintain our health.
The same goes in spiritual life, which we need to have a good rest. Because sometimes each of us encounter many struggles or busy with our ministry at church that can make us feel bored. When we are bored, we tend to complain easily and lose our spirit in the ministry. Thus, we need refreshment that can keep up our spiritual spirit. When we are refreshed, we will be calm, our faith will be renewed, our body and soul will refreshed so that we have a new spirit in serving God.
One way to experience spiritual restoration is by being quiet in His presence. Come to God and ask for refreshment. In His presence, we will get healed and have new strength. There is no other best place or way, but Jesus who is able to give us restoration.
It is written in Matthew 11:28 that Jesus invites those who are weary and burdened to come to Him, and He will give them rest. In Psalms 23:2, it is written that God will lie us down in green pastures, and He will restore our souls. This means that in Jesus, there lies relief and true peace.
In His presence, we will new strength. God will guide us towards His plan. We have to be close to Jesus in order to have peace (Psalms 62:2). So, never be apart from God, keep yourself close to Him. The praises that we sing for God can also give us new refreshment. Because God reigns upon our praises, and there is power in every praise.
Don’t let boredom fill you up, come to God so that you will find restoration. Amen.
