Early in the morning, we flew from Jakarta to Padang. It was a pleasant flight. Just when we were about to reach Minangkabau International Airport, we could see how beautiful the scenery was.
Then we gathered together with the students, teachers and leaders of Adikku Sayang GKII Padang. We started out our field trip with lunch in one of the well-known local restaurants. After that, we proceeded to Bukittinggi.
The 3-hour drive, which otherwise would be tiring, turned out to be a great moment whereby we could interact closely to them.
Yup! The first location that we went to was the house of the founding father, countryman, and the first Vice President of Indonesia, the late Bung Hatta. In this house, we could see his family tree, documentary pictures about Bung Hatta, his family, relatives, and closed ones. We also viewed different kinds of room, sets of furniture, and some other heritage. It was Bung Hatta’s hobby to read books and to study, and that motivated the Adikku Sayang students to follow his footsteps.
From Bung Hatta’s house, we went to Ngarai Sianok, a steep valley (cliff) which is very beautiful, green, and fertile. At the bottom, a creek was flowing through the gaps of the cliff, with Mt. Merapi and Mt. Singgalang on the background. On the sides of the creek, we could see different kinds of herb an
d monkey.

d by cool air, our little brothers and sisters listened to directions and motivations given by the program leader and chief of Adikku Sayang.
After that, we continued our journey to the Gadang Clock (Big Clock). Gadang Clock was established in 1926, a gift from Queen of the Netherlands to Rook Maker, secretary of Bukittinggi city. Gadang Clock is the official km zero of the city.
Everybody was very happy on that day, because they could go for a field trip that was both refreshing and educative. All of these activities can be carried out because of the support of the partners of Anugrah Ministries and the grace of God that has been sustaining our ministry thus far.
Berkumpul bersama murid-murid, guru dan pembimbing Adikku Sayang di GKII Padang kami memulai perjalanan dengan makan siang di salah satu restoran terkemuka// Setelah perut terisi / kamipun siap berangkat menuju bukittinggi //
Perjalanan 3 jam yang melelahkan menjadi menyenangkan ketika kami memiliki moment yang akrab dan indah bersama mereka //
Yup! Lokasi pertama yang kami tuju adalah rumah sang pejuang, negarawan, dan juga Wakil Presiden Indonesia yang pertama ini alm Hatta. Di rumah salah satu proklamator ini kami melihat silsilah keluarga / foto-foto dokumentasi tentang Bung Hatta, keluarga dan orang-orang terdekatnya / berbagai ruangan / perabotan / dan berbagai peninggalan lainnya // Kegemaran bung Hatta membaca buku dan belajar memotivasi adik-adik untuk meneladani sang putra kelahiran bukittinggi ini //
Dari rumah bung Hatta / perjalanan kami lanjutkan menuju Ngarai Sianok // Ngarai Sianok adalah sebuah lembah curam (jurang) yang indah, hijau dan subur. Didasarnya mengalir sebuah anak sungai yang berliku-liku menelusuri celah-celah tebing dengan latar belakang Gunung Merapi dan Gunung Singgalang. Di tepiannya masih banyak dijumpai tumbuhan obat-obatan dan monyet.
Di tempat yang berhawa sejuk ini adik-adik mendengarkan pengarahan dan motivasi dari ketua program dan Pembina Adikku Sayang //
Setelahnya / perjalanan kami pun berlanjut ke jam Gadang atau jam besar dalam bahasa Indonesia // Jam Gadang dibangun pada tahun 1926 ini merupakan hadiah dari Ratu Belanda kepada Rook Maker, sekretaris kota Bukittinggi di masa pemerintahan Hindia Belanda. Selain menjadi ikon kota Bukittinggi, Jam Gadang juga ditetapkan sebagai titik nol kota Bukittinggi.
Semua bergembira di hari itu. Dapat wisata sambil belajar. Semuanya berkat support dari para partner Anugrah Ministries dan kemurahan Tuhan yang telah membawa pelayanan kami sampai sejauh ini.
